Kristin L. Dent


Kristin Dent serves as Associate Broker and Director of Accounting & Property Management at West Virginia Commercial, LLC, where she plays a central role in the leasing, financial management, and strategic oversight of the firm’s commercial real estate portfolio across West Virginia.


With a professional foundation in accounting and more than a decade of experience working directly alongside veteran developer and broker Brooks McCabe, Kristin operates at the intersection of brokerage, asset management, and property operations. Her work spans the full lifecycle of commercial real estate—from financial analysis and operational management to lease negotiations, capital planning, and long-term portfolio strategy.


Kristin is responsible for the financial and operational management of the McCabe Land Company portfolio, a diverse collection of office, mixed-use, and investment properties throughout Charleston and North Central West Virginia. In this role, she oversees budgeting, financial reporting, property performance analysis, tenant relations, capital improvement planning, and operational execution across multiple assets. Her background in accounting allows her to approach real estate from an owner’s perspective, with a focus on disciplined financial management, asset preservation, and long-term value creation.


In addition to her asset management responsibilities, Kristin is actively involved in brokerage and leasing strategy for West Virginia Commercial’s clients. She regularly works with business owners, investors, and institutional tenants to structure leases, reposition underperforming assets, and guide strategic real estate decisions. Her ability to integrate operational knowledge with financial analysis provides clients with practical, data-driven guidance throughout the transaction process.


Kristin earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from West Virginia State University. She is currently completing the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM)—one of the most respected credentials in the commercial real estate industry and widely recognized as the gold standard in property management.


Her professional experience uniquely spans the full spectrum of commercial real estate operations. She manages everything from day-to-day property management and building operations to complex financial analysis and long-term portfolio strategy—an uncommon combination that allows her to bridge the gap between operational execution and ownership-level decision making.


Kristin has been recognized for her contributions to community development and downtown revitalization efforts in West Virginia, including receiving the Pierpont Community & Technical College Leadership Award for her work supporting economic development initiatives.


At West Virginia Commercial, Kristin represents a new generation of leadership in the firm—combining financial discipline, operational expertise, and a forward-thinking approach to commercial real estate management.
