WV Commercial is a full-service real estate firm with a long-standing presence in Charleston’s business community. With over five decades of experience and a reputation built on trust, we specialize in brokerage and property management for clients ranging from local entrepreneurs to national corporations.
Our legacy began in 1980 when Brooks McCabe and Rudy Henley founded McCabe-Henley Properties in Charleston, West Virginia. McCabe-Henley quickly became a leader and innovator in the commercial real estate market. It was the first firm in the state to direct a condominium conversion into an apartment complex for low-and-moderate-income families. It was also the first to use industrial revenue bonds to rehabilitate multi-family housing.
McCabe also played a pivotal role in the revitalization of downtown Charleston, WV. He repurposed many local landmarks, such as the KB&T Center and Renaissance Tower, the Capitol City Building, and Imperial Towers. In addition, McCabe became a major developer in Fairmont’s downtown by repurposing multiple properties including Veterans’ Square and the Hennen Building.
In 2009, McCabe-Henley was reorganized and renamed WV Commercial, with Brooks McCabe as Managing Member and Broker.
Today, we continue to build on that foundation with a forward-looking approach that blends McCabe’s local insight with strategic execution.
In 2025, Kristin Dent stepped into the role of Associate Broker, ushering in a new era for WV Commercial. With deep experience in commercial real estate, property management, accounting and investment strategy, Kristin brings a modern perspective and operational precision to every deal. Her leadership reflects our evolving culture—grounded in integrity, collaboration, and a results-driven mindset.
