Summers Square

West Virginia Commercial led the effort in the early 1990’s to revitalize the Summers Street corridor in downtown Charleston. The culmination of that effort led to the construction of Summers Square, a 39,000 square foot building constructed in 1994.  This was the first major development on Summers Street in the 1990’s, which at the time was a very stressed crime ridden street. This project started the redevelopment of Summers Street into the vibrant location which it is today.

West Virginia Commercial maintains leasing of the facility on behalf of its current owners. Due to West Virginia Commercial’s intimate market knowledge, sophisticated marketing strategy, and aggressive local team, this Class A facility in the heart of the Charleston Business District is 100% occupied.

West Virginia Commercial has a proven track record of working with property owners, large and small, to enact a strategy that fits their needs. In this instance, West Virginia Commercial acted as the original developer of the property, the broker in selling the property, and still maintains leasing for the facility. West Virginia Commercial can also provide full service capabilities that include record and bookkeeping, property management, and building supervision.

At the same time, West Virginia Commercial stands ready to develop a strategy tailored to the unique needs of any individual business. By focusing on the end goal of a property user, West Virginia Commercial can achieve an effective, time saving real estate plan at the lowest cost to the client.

Most recently, West Virginia Commercial helped lease over 7,000 square feet of first floor space at Summers Square to The Health Plan. After conducting an extensive study of the market, presenting, and showing the tenant all possible candidates for their expansion, West Virginia Commercial helped The Health Plan achieve its goal of finding enough space to rapidly grow in a new market.
